Look at the first Starknet Meetup in Split
StarkWare | Starknet, an open-source Layer-2 network designed to improve scalability and privacy for decentralized applications (dApps) built on the Ethereum blockchain, had its first meetup in Split, Croatia!
short intro: Starknet uses a Layer 2 scaling technique called zero-knowledge rollups (ZKPs) to achieve scalability and cost-efficiency. Zero-knowledge rollups bundle numerous transactions off-chain, the so-called data availability layer, and generate concise evidence that certifies the validity of these transactions. This proof is then submitted and verified on the Ethereum blockchain, known as the execution layer.
The event was a part of BlockSplit 4, and just like the conference itself — the Starknet Meetup was a blast!
With a great interest in Starkware and ZK technology, followed by some good pizza and drinks, 0xevolve from Pragma gave an introduction to Starkware, Starknet, and Cairo — the programming language that powers the Layer 2 ecosystem.
He also talked about the scaling of Ethereum, and Madara, a Starknet sequencer.
After the talk and some questions from the crowd, the time for a panel discussion came.
Mattéo Georges from Pragma, Luka Sučić from Meta Change Capital and Bojan Peček from LiquidityProtocol -with our founder Edi as moderator- had a discussion about the current state of crypto, ZKPs, Account Abstraction, and what zk technology promises to bring in the future.
After the panel, everyone joined in various discussions and it was so invigorating to see people's hunger for knowledge and the community’s growth!
