Back in December, we shared some of our favorite products of 2017. From the simplicity of the perfect slim wallet to the magic of a temperature-regulating coffee mug, our team is unabashedly fanatical about thoughtful design and functionality. Now, we’re rounding up some of the products we’re loving so far in 2018 (because we just couldn’t wait until the holidays to share them with you).

“I got my reMarkable recently, and it’s a game changer for me. It has already replaced my notebook that I used to carry everywhere, and I can also use it to annotate PDF docs. I love how single purpose the device is and the UI is intuitive and clean.” — Santo Politi

“I use this app almost every day to create beautiful stories on Instagram. The app keeps getting better and better while keeping its magic. I recommend paying for the extra product stuff in the app — it’s worth it, and you can help support cool indie apps like this.” — Bijan Sabet

“If I’m being honest, I have a few camera bags in my closet these days. But this Ona Bags is my favorite. It can carry your camera kit plus enough room for a 15" MacBook Pro, headphones and accessories. The leather starts out a little stiff but gets so nice over time.” — Bijan Sabet

“It’s a yoga mat that defies the physics of traction. As you sweat, instead of becoming slippery, the mat becomes more tacky. I needed two sessions to get used to the experience, and now I love it. Also, it’s the Goldilocks experience of being thickly cushioning while still firm.” — Andrew Parker

“These running shoes are lightweight, easy to slip on, and perfect for work, travel, and weekends.” — Alex Finkelstein

“I’ve tried a dozen different varieties of travel coffee mugs, and all of them leaked on me at exactly the wrong time… except this mug from Contigo. Super reliable and trustworthy: this product has the ‘it works’ feature, which, in a world of over-promising bells-and-whistles, is often the best feature.” — Andrew Parker

“There’s a reason these jeans are constantly sold out. The fit feels custom-made, and the quality of the durable Japanese denim feels like they could last a lifetime. At $68, the cost-per-wear needs no justification.” — Dominique Farrar

“It’s a super-lightweight, clear SPF for men and women that isn’t greasy or funky smelling.” — Megan Quinn

“Riding on a Xiaomi m365 is a really delightful way to get around the city quickly (it’s the scooter that Bird and Spin use for their fleet). I wouldn’t want the cognitive overhead of owning one, so being able park it (responsibly) and walk away without a second thought is a great consumption model for a fun product.” — Andrew Parker

“The coolest toy I’ve ever had — the small size, streaming 4K and collision avoidance create an incredible user experience. It’s a flying HD camera that can fly 40+ MPH. Just be careful in Sport Mode.” — Alex Clayton

“The ‘looks like a spreadsheet, acts like a database’ company Airtable has been around for a bit, but the release of Blocks was what finally turned me into a daily user. It’s an application platform that you can run against your tables, creating everything from charts, to pivot tables, to web pages quickly and easily. It has become my go-to data management tool for everything from keeping track of a house remodel, to notes on books I’m reading, to doing sensitivity analysis with my son on his various Pokemon TCG decks.” — Nabeel Hyatt

“If there is a common theme to the most compelling VR games we’ve seen so far it’s that they are about movement as much as presence. I loved playing Superhot and Rock Band VR (from Spark company Harmonix), and both are as much what you are doing with your body as what you are seeing. Beat Saber is the same, a totally crazy fun VR music experience that has me going back go the Rift several times a week right now.” — Nabeel Hyatt
