Our Investment in PreVeil

When we think about the products and companies that will define the future, cybersecurity is top of mind. Information security has become a focal point as businesses entrusted with our most sensitive data are failing at keeping that information safe. Tired of letting our potential vulnerabilities keep us up night, we set out to find the best team to protect ourselves.

When we first heard about the simplicity behind their encryption security model, we knew PreVeil created the security product for Spark. The company’s proprietary suite of solutions provides end-to-end encryption for email and document services, along with distributed trust that ensures no one administrator is a gateway for infiltrators. The team created something incredibly user-friendly, removing common barriers to implementation, and encouraging widespread, seamless use of their product.

The co-founders, Randy Battat, Sanjeev Verma, and Raluca Ada Popa, all met at MIT after Randy and Sanjeev spent over a decade growing their prior company, Airvana, from a startup to a 400 person global corporation. Their startup experience alongside Raluca’s expertise in computer security and encryption schematics, create an anti-hacking force to be reckoned with.

The founders’ vision, coupled with extraordinary execution, has created what we believe is the next stage of cyber security. PreVeil has successfully redefined the system by which we measure our security standards and we are proud to announce we’re leading their Series A financing.

We look forward to working with PreVeil’s founding team, Randy, Sanjeev, and Raluca, as they continue their work to revolutionize data security and protect businesses from the ever present threat of cyber attacks.
