Partnering with MessageBird

We are thrilled to partner with MessageBird on its Series C financing announced this morning.

At Spark, we believe that consumer expectations around business communication are shifting rapidly. The next generation of consumers will no longer accept waiting on hold for hours before talking to an agent, or starting a new live chat conversation because they accidentally closed a tab. Instead, consumers will expect to engage with businesses via the communication channels that they prefer to use in their regular lives. In 2020, that tends to be messaging channels like SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, WeChat and more — with traditional channels like voice and email used more sparingly (although MessageBird supports them too!)

This shift in consumer expectations will drive companies to think about customer engagement in a new way — where omnichannel becomes a necessity vs. a nice-to-have. In this new world, we believe that companies will prefer to work with one global, omnichannel vendor rather than stitch together a number of disparate local/regional or monoline point solutions.

MessageBird allows businesses to reach any consumer on nearly any channel, globally. Its products have their foundation in the base layer of telecommunications infrastructure — with hundreds of direct carrier integrations spanning hundreds of countries — and are built all the way up to the top layer of UI — with purpose-built and vertically-integrated solutions like a drag-and-drop flow builder and a contact center solution called Inbox. Customers can choose which parts of the MessageBird stack to integrate into their applications depending on what they are trying to accomplish — and some of the world’s leading companies, like Facebook, Uber, SAP, Deliveroo and Lufthansa, use MessageBird today to surprise and delight their customers globally.

Put simply, we believe MessageBird has the best product and team to help businesses navigate the future of customer engagement — whatever it looks like — with tens of thousands of happy customers today and growing.

Robert, MessageBird’s co-founder and CEO, often says “I just wish I could text with a business.” We couldn’t be more excited to partner on the journey to make that dream a reality.
