Spark Capital Internship Program — 2020

All of us at Spark realize that intelligence, creativity, and talent are everywhere, but access and opportunity are not.

This summer, we will run an internship program geared to underrepresented groups. Interns will join us for four to six weeks and work alongside our tight-knit investing team.

We realize this program is minimal in terms of the work that needs to be done. Our hope is that our portfolio companies will pledge to join us in hiring summer interns from diverse backgrounds this year and moving forward. We believe that together, we can offer hundreds of talented students tech work experience and a wedge into the tech community.

We recognize that our community also needs to address better representation on the cap table, the board room, and in partnerships. This is one of many steps we believe we can take together to create change.

About the Internship

The Spark summer internship is about giving you access to and teaching you about the venture capital industry. Interns will be key members of Spark, working alongside the investment team. The work you will be doing includes conducting market research, diligencing new investments, and supporting existing portfolio companies. This is a paid internship that will run four to six weeks, starting in July 2020. The official start date is still being decided. This summer, the internship will be remote.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a passion for technology, a willingness to work hard on a small team, and the ability to self manage.
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in college and have completed their junior year.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• The internship program is geared toward underrepresented groups.
