The World Needs Cybereason

Two years ago when Spark Capital led the Series B in Cybereason and I joined the board, the threat of cyberattacks was bubbling up into our popular consciousness because of North Korea and the Sony Pictures Entertainment hack. That incident was certainly top-of-mind for myself and my partners at Spark back then. However, as I wrote at that time, the main motivator for Spark to want to get involved with Lior and his team is what typically draws us in: a great product. What made this company stand out from the rest was their beautiful, intuitive product that made dealing with cyber security issues across an organization a better experience for the end user.

A lot has changed since then. Now all you have to do is glance at any headline on any given day in 2017 to see why Cybereason is more needed than ever. A greater understanding of imminent security threats has lead to more and more corporations turning to this team for a solution that is quick to implement and powerful enough to get them through a specific incident and then offer continued protection. That’s why Cybereason has raced far ahead of what is a crowded pack. And that’s why I’m thrilled that they’ve raised a $100 million Series D to accelerate their growth and offer their services to even more organizations whose digital borders are threatened every day.

The world is starting to learn about threats that, by hanging out with this company, I have gotten an up close and personal view of. This team has quickly iterated on what was already an effective, intuitive cyber security product to create a system that leverages the power of machine learning, behavioral analytics and massive parallel computing to protect their customers. I’m more certain than ever that Cybereason will be the reason that more and more folks sleep better at night.

Last thing: they’re hiring.
