Facebook Stories, similar to Snapchat, is a feature that went live on Facebook’s app in India.

The feature lets you post photos & videos to a story string with enhancers like masks, frames & interactive filters that, just as Snapchat (and Instagram and Messenger and Whatsapp), disappears after 24 hours.

This was first tested among the digital crowd of Ireland in January this year, after which it went live in Chile, Greece, Vietnam& finally made its way to India.

But what makes FB’s Stories feature so unique & keeps it independent of the already existing features of Snapchat (and Instagram and Messenger and Whatsapp)?

For The Marketers:

Facebook’s new ‘camera’ completes the loop for the digital marketer’s millennial market. Now marketers have it all when it comes to methods of marketing, all on one platform.

Devising impromptu interactive activities, time-capped contests, personal visual interactions with brand loyalists are few of the many new attributes added by the new feature for the marketing community.

From a global perspective,

As of today, Facebook has 1.8 billion active accounts. Many of them are yet to encounter Snapchat. Think about that.

Some sources suggest that Facebook, in near future, will start allowing users to create their own filters. Yes, you’ll be able to create your own filters!

But after Messenger, Instagram&Whatsapp why does Facebook feel the need to introduce the overtly available feature on Facebook?

Well, for starters, when they had the activation on Instagram while the market seemed apprehensive & unwelcoming, the same feature today has over 150 million impressions worldwide.

For The Users:

The update has been launched for both, iOS and Android users. The users will get to experience some awesome filters to interact with the audience.

How do you feel about the new upgrade made by Facebook? Will this turn out to be a USP for them or fail to strike a chord? Tell us in the comments below!
