America, please just chill out

Arguing gets us nowhere
Always someone is wrong
Anything to find a fault
Another silly song.

Against other opinions
Angst is easily grown
Alone is how we sometimes feel
Apart from the “in” crowd.

An audience is what we seek
As long as they agree
Appreciating what we write
And the same viewpoint they see.

Against the grain is how we roll
Amazed by opposed views
Armed and ready to attack
At the first sign of fake news.

Attitude is everything
Attached to our beliefs
Acknowledge everything we say
And we won’t give you grief.

America, please just chill out,
Away from where I’m at
Australia sits watching on
Alarmed by all the spats.
