What if we could ensure employment and decent work for all?
Today, on Impact Journalism Day, we drew up a list of 7 inspiring solutions responding to this issue among the 60 stories shared by 50 of the greatest media from all over the world, reunited for this event. This is the case of the initiatives of Oyori Asia, COMparte, Startup Scene in Greece and The Nawaya Impact Lab.
COMparte — Colombia
Centro COMParte is a space designed by and for the community offering cultural and entrepreneurial integration for youth & adults in Bogota, Colombia. In the Santa Rosa neighborhood where diverse groups face the challenge of cohabitation in reduced, often inadequate spaces, their objective is to positively gather and impact the population through cultural activities, empowerment workshops and skills training that strengthen the core of their families, personal development and community.
Startup Scene in Greece
An article on the various grassroots and tech community efforts to build up the startup scene in Greece. This has an impact both in terms of economic activity and in terms of keeping Greek talent at home, instead of looking for jobs in other countries. It’s a strategy that can be replicated in other crisis-hit countries.

Oyori Asia — South Korea
Oyori Asia Inc. is a social business group supporting the self-reliance of underprivileged women in Asia through the food business. Through its restaurants in Korea, Nepal & Thailand, Oyori is creating jobs for women living in poverty, providing them with vocational training and capacity building.

The Nawaya Impact Lab — Lebanon
Nawaya Impact Lab provides unemployed & out of school Lebanese and refugee youth with the training they need in order to come up with innovative, income-generating opportunities to problems in their communities, and offers additional resources such as mentorship and funding to the top teams. Nawaya has so far trained 650 youth, generated 55 ideas, mentored 31 teams & is in the process of financially supporting 25 of them. By end of 2017, they will have reached over 3000 youth in three regions.
