Express it in seconds.

I’m excited to announce the launch of Sparks. Available in the App Store starting today, Sparks is an app that lets you very quickly create and share sparks — visual and expressive messages — right from your iPhone. I’ll show you how it works, but first explain why we built it.

Why we built it

Here at Sparks, we believe that people create meaning through the daily interactions we share. In small and big ways, we find ways of relating via these moments. A high-five with a stranger at the stadium after a walk-off homerun; a bus stop chat about an unexpected plot twist in your favorite TV show; a joke shared about a ridiculous celebrity. Or in my case, how I feel today…

These moments are marvelous, and technology has enabled ever more of them over the last decade. We want to further empower people to make these moments more frequent, more awesome and ultimately more human with a simple and powerful way of expressing a thought, feeling or quip -wherever you are.

How it works

Publish in seconds: A moment can be fleeting, so we’ve made it really fast and easy. We also realize you have friends and fans everywhere, so we made sure sharing to your favorite social network is seamless.

  1. Find a pic or GIF from across the web (or use your own).

2. Type what you want to say. Position and resize the text by dragging and pinching.

3. Add a filter to capture the feeling with different photo effects and typography.

4. Share with a tap to friends and followers on Twitter and Facebook, as well as publish into different channels on Sparks.

Discover sparks: Check out what other people are sharing on the Popular feed or through channels in the app — sports, television, politics, celebrity, funny and more.

It’s just the beginning, but from what we’ve already seen, we’re really excited about how Sparks can help us be more creative, interesting, and at times downright hilarious when expressing it with friends and followers. We can’t wait to see the different ways you’ll use it!

I invite you to check out Sparks and join us in making how we express, share and discuss more interesting, fun and human. You can download Sparks on the app store here: getsparks.com/download.
