We take security very seriously and make customer protection our priority. Learn about Sparrow’s security measures here.

Ensuring great security is a partnership. Every user plays an important role in keeping accounts safe by maintaining good security habits.

Want to ensure that your account remains safe and secure?

Check out these 6 tips!

1. Always enable 2FA

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure in which you have to provide two different authentication factors to verify and access your account. 2FA makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to access your account.

You are strongly encouraged to enable 2FA for better security. Learn how you can enable 2FA on your Sparrow account here.

2. Protect your password!

Having a strong and secure password is critical in protecting your account from being compromised.

All passwords for Sparrow accounts must contain at least eight characters and have uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.

Also, you can protect your password by:

  • Using a reputed password manager such as 1Password for strong passwords and enhanced protection
  • Change your passwords often (once every month or so)
  • Do not reuse passwords; use a different unique password for each website and account

3. Secure your Internet connection

For maximum security, avoid connecting to public Wi-Fi networks and use your own private Wi-Fi network instead.

If you need to use a public Wi-Fi hotspot, we recommend you use a virtual private network (VPN) to secure your connection.

4. Only communicate with Sparrow team via our official channels

Always refer to our official channels should you wish to get updates on Sparrow or reach out to the team. For all queries, contact us at support@sparrowexchange.com

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Sparrow will never ask you to transfer digital assets or make digital asset contributions.

5. Be wary of phishing attempts

To prevent phishing attempts, always check the authenticity of emails you receive by verifying that the sender’s email address and website URLs are correct.

Always browse websites with the URL prefix https:// instead of http:// for a more secure and encrypted browsing experience, especially when you are keying in sensitive information such as logging in or creating an account.

Do not open suspicious email attachments or links. Contact the Sparrow team should you have any doubt of the authenticity of a channel.

6. Keep your software and operating system up-to-date

Ensure that anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall products are installed on all your devices.

Keep your operating systems, anti-virus and firewall products updated with the latest security patches and software versions regularly to minimize security threats.

Ensuring a safe and secure community is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s work together to keep everyone safe.
