Non-Comedogenic Products: Spate Trends Spotlight #5
It feels like it’s been a few years since “non-comedogenic” was being mentioned on every blog and social media post, but the data shows consumers still care. In fact, they care more than ever before.
The Spate Facts🧴
Search interest for “non-comedogenic” is growing by +22.9% since last year, at an average of 32K searches per month in the US. The word is searched across a variety of products, from moisturizer to foundation to oil to sunscreen… and even shampoo (although only 195 searches per month for that). Despite being a sustained and growing concern for consumers, there are no brands that are owning this word — consumers are not associating any brands with the search term.
The Spate POV🧴
Consumers are thinking about hydration from a more holistic perspective. Hydration provides consumers with a fresher look, and this benefit can be applied beyond skin care lotions. Go beyond the usual suspects for hydration (ie lotions and creams), and think about how it can be applied to other areas such as cosmetics, grooming, and hair care.
