How Spatium uses Bluetooth 4.0 in their products.

Introduced in 2009, Bluetooth Low Energy has grown into a global supporter of the connected device market. It started as a part of the Bluetooth 4.0 Core Specification, but now it has a completely different intended use and goals. By the end of 2018 nearly 19 billion BLE-enabled smartphones were shipped globally.

What is BLE?

BLE offers low energy and low-cost wireless data transmission, that is used in smartphones, watches, tablets and other devices. It implements cutting-edge solutions into medical, IoT, and FinTech spheres.

Product designers appreciate the low barrier of adoption for the devices with BLE installed. It has no disturbing extra fees for the license and the core specs combined with a lean protocol stack. Customers, from their side, got used to the platforms they operate and there’s no need to get accustomed to the new UI.

Industrial use

Apple company set up the beacon technology in their 254 USA based stores. It allows the customers to receive a notice about loyalty programs and promotions while they are around. Apple is also working on a notification about the readiness of the device.
