The bell rings

School is out

The hallways

Are full and loud

The voices of the children fill the air

Paper planes

Water balloons

Load the truck

Hit the pool

Feel that warm sunshine, ain’t got a care

Summer Daze

Take me to a time

Wild and free

Like a Bronco ride.

That old oak tree

That rusty bike

Kissing in the shade

Get on home before supper time

Tonight we sleep

Tomorrow we write

Design another page

In a summer daze

Sundown

The grill is smelling

Mom cut up

Some watermelon

Spit the seeds, the juice runs through your hands

Blanket down

In the living room

Big full belly

Watch the Dukes

If I could press rewind, go back again

Summer Daze

Take me to a time

Wild and free

Like a Bronco ride.

That old oak tree

That rusty bike

Kissing in the shade

Get on home before supper time

Tonight we sleep

Tomorrow we write

Design another page

In a summer daze

At the pond

Before sunrise

Grandpa fishing

Telling lies

Take a mess to grandma to get them clean

Box fan

Snap peas

Yellow corn

Sweet tea

That June time country fun just can’t be beat

Summer Daze

Take me to a time

Wild and free

Like a Bronco ride.

That old oak tree

That rusty bike

Kissing in the shade

Get on home before supper time

Tonight we sleep

Tomorrow we write

Design another page

In a summer daze
