Welcome to our blog!

Erin Janklow, Founder and CEO, Entrada ESL, www.entradaesl.com

Hi! I’m Erin, Founder and CEO of Entrada, a startup focused on increasing access to language training for immigrants and refugees in the workplace. Our goal is to get more people talking, starting at work, in order to create a more compassionate future one conversation at a time.

We’re starting a blog to share some of the lessons we’ve learned as a company innovating in the service industry, and also to shine a light on the challenges of learning a language as adults — especially for those new to a country.

A common mindset is that it’s impossible for adults to learn new languages, but we use the same ingredients to teach adults a language that apply to accomplishing any goal: regular practice, supportive people, accessible tools, and accountability buddies.

To us, starting conversations in the workplace is key. That’s where we spend the majority of time, develop relationships with coworkers from different cultures and backgrounds, and work towards advancing our careers.

Just like in learning a language, every step is progress.

To start off our year, we’re sharing a few highlights from 2019, including videos and steps of progress for our company, clients, and program participants.

Thanks for reading!

The foundation for change continues to become stronger, and we’re looking forward to more continued global progress in 2020 and beyond!
