Why?

Why do we need to eat three meals per day?

Why do we work from 9–5?

Why do we use a fork in our left hand when eating with a knife?

Why do we wear tuxedos to formal events?

Why is one event more formal than another?

Why do smaller kids have to stay in car seats even though they may be older?

Why do we celebrate birthdays every year but graduations only on the day they happened?

Why do we accept things simply because they are told to us to be that way when we are young? For instance, even though we know there were people in the North American mainland way before Columbus or Leif Erickson, we still talk about America as being “discovered.” Why? The people who were here hadn’t lost it.

Why do we take medicine knowing that it has side effects?

Why do we do things we hate?

Why do we treat other people in ways we don’t accept being treated?

Why is war a thing?

Why do we choose bullying over helping?

Why don’t we listen to each other more?

Why are we scared to live and yet afraid to die?

Why are we cool with someone else creating our racial identity?

Why do we seek happiness but are never content?

The world is messed up. I suppose our journey is simply about finding moments we can bottle up and call memories.
