Day One

A Poem About Starting Over

I’ve been here before
And I’ll be here again
Restarting my journey
With hope till the end.

Each time starts a promise
A mantra for my spirit
But as days crawl by
This mind refuses to hear it.

Day One is never certain
Sometimes filled with happiness or shame
I’ve reflected on the work done
But again Day Ones have gone and came.

I swear this is the last start
I’ll tame these feelings
And finally live my life
With progress and healing.

But still here I am
Fatigued, sad, and done
But as frustrating as it can be
I’m glad to be here on Day One.
