New Math and Nobel Prizes

As someone who has been delusional before, I empathize with actor Terrence Howard. He’s the guy from Empire, Hustle and Flow, and Crash who got fired from the Ironman franchise. Howard has a history of erratic talk and behavior, including accusations of domestic violence that led to him pleading guilty to disturbing the peace. But it’s his recent “scientific” discoveries that have been getting attention.

Howard has given speeches in front of academics during which he claimed that 1X1=2. He says he’s come up with a new language and a new form of math.

The actor has said that he’s somehow “unlocked the flower of life”. He claims he has disproven gravity.

I don’t know Terrence Howard’s medical history, and I’m not a doctor, but I know how he feels.

I’ve felt like an omnipotent god. I was convinced I was going to win a Nobel Prize. I’m not kidding. I told my girlfriend she would get half the money for being so supportive.

When I had my biggest hypomanic inflation, I was absolutely sure that I understood the secrets of space and time. I was conducting experiments with household items — lots of flashlights and reflections…
