I don’t know about you, but in my humble experience of this short life, my inner critic is the loudest voice.

Sometimes it’s not even negative thoughts, but negative feelings that try to bring me down. The best medicine I’ve found is not to resist these feelings and negative thoughts, but to write them down and release them.

Why is negative energy so pervasive? Trying to stay positive can be incredibly challenging, especially if you have a mental illness.

But even though it can feel like mental torture, it can also focus you on doing deep inner work on yourself.

The quality of your thoughts impacts your life in more ways than you can imagine. And yet, knowing this, I still sometimes feel powerless to their iron grip on me.

But at least I’m conscious of them and removing myself from becoming my thoughts to observing them instead.

If a negative thought comes through, question it. Don’t default to accepting it.
