The Delicate Dance

During my decades of depression, I realized the importance of acceptance and resistance. For me, it is a “Holy Grail” or a delicate dance between having the strength to face the negativity that invades my soul and having the courage to acknowledge life’s situation as it is without fighting it.
It is a delicate balance between setbacks and understanding, despair and profound revelation, wishful thinking and connection (with a deeper source of being).

In our culture, acceptance is seen as a sign of weakness, a kind of resignation or defeat. According to the motto, only losers accept reality because they are not strong enough to face it. This is the vision of the insensitive, who have no idea what it means to fall into this deep, dark hole of depression. But Western society is driven by insensitivity; even if it has become better recently, there is still a long way to go.
