Mya and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. She has become an extraordinarily caring and passionate young woman. She is involved with everything she loves, including sports, music, dance, leadership and various other clubs. This is our first time going to the Special Olympics games and we are very excited. Mya is looking forward to reporting and documenting all the events team Connecticut takes part in, as well as working with young athletes. Mya joined Special Olympics because she loves to help people and participate in new opportunities along the way. When asking her what it means to her to be attending the 2018 Games, she responded with “Good leadership and good teamwork”, which shows her work ethic and dedication to her sports teams and her involvement with the community. I am very proud to be her Unified Partner and cannot wait for the 2018 Games!
