Must Read of the Day: Our friend Susan Senator has a terrific essay in today’s New York Times entitled, “This Little Light of Mine” that you’ll want to check out.

Also, our Special Olympics Africa region is shari

ng their year-end newsletter/report about the amazing work they’ve been doing. In addition to putting on a National Games and a variety of other events, did you know SO Kenya was awarded a grant to conduct a research project with 100 athletes to see what affects personal hygiene, nutrition and physical activity have on people with intellectual disabilities? These types of opportunities provide insight and data on how to improve the lives of people with ID in some of the most forgotten parts of the world and help craft arguments to governments and policymakers on the issue of need and urgency for increased resources to serve our population. Powerful stuff. You can see the full year end report from SO Africa at the link below and also check out their website!
