Hey guys! Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Jaxon White and Sam Phillips here from- your delegates for the Youth Leadership Experience at the USA Games in Seattle this summer.

To prepare fore the games, we interviewed Elizabeth Porter, who is an athlete from East Stroudsburg, PA, and is a part of team PA for Seattle. She is going for swimming and also serves as our health ambassador.

On our Team PA Facebook page, Elizabeth regularly posts exercises our athletes can do at home and videos of encouragements as everyone trains for Seattle!

When asked what she is most excited for, she said she is excited to be with her friends in a new place (she has never been to Seattle) and to compete for the gold! When it comes to inclusion, no one pushes inclusion and acceptance for all like Elizabeth. She attends Zumba class every week with her friends at the gym and lives a Unified life. She says she is blessed with wonderful friends of all shapes, colors, and sizes and accepts everyone for their individual talents.

She encourages everyone to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen as the temperatures rise!

We look forward to seeing what Elizabeth does at Seattle and we are so proud of her no matter what place she comes in!
