With the tremendous news of two new Covid-19 vaccines being over 90% effective at conferring immunity against the virus, people all over the world are already looking to book their next big holiday. It seems like years ago since we flicked through a magazine or newspaper with holiday getaway promotions or airline ticket sales. Though, while these advertisements have been absent due to the pandemic, an essential and overlooked promotion has taken its place.

The National Health Service (NHS) is producing advertisements in publications all over the country on how to stay safe during this challenging time, as well as information about the new ‘Track and Trace’ app developed by Public Health England. From The Daily Telegraph, The Times, to The Sunday Times, to name a few, these advertisements and public service announcements have been seen all over England since March, advising people to socially distance, work from home if possible, and only go out for essential shopping. When regulations changed, these full-page advertisements were printed right away and distributed all over the country to keep up with the advice of professionals.

With the increasing spread of misinformation online, having print advertisements with information directly from the doctors and researchers on the front line is vital to making sure the message of ‘Stay Home, Save Lives’ is heard. Since the new Covid-19 app that launched in September 2020, advertisements have shifted focus to introducing people on how and where to download the app. Developed by the government and the NHS, the app can log your symptoms, book a free test, give you updates on the risk of Covid in your area, check-in at venues with a QR code, and alert you if you have been exposed to someone with Covid at that venue at a similar time.

During the pandemic, the Specle team has spent the entire period working eagerly from home, To guarantee that our client’s advertisements are printed efficiently with professional standards. We are truly proud to have extended our list of clients to include the NHS design team, assisting with their advertisements, and ensuring print quality is met when handling the distribution of public health information nationwide. With the promising news of a vaccine on the way, we are eager to continue working with our clients virtually and contribute to the print industry globally. We wish our clients the best of health and thanks for your support.
