Poor usability can trigger satisfaction issues and affect conversion rates for your product. A comprehensive design audit helps to identify the outstanding problems and hidden ones that can directly affect conversion and prepare your product for success.

Finding and improving gaps in your designs requires fast and consistent solutions. Design audit comes into play at this stage to unlock the full potential of their products.

With the strategic user experience design, the potential conversion rates of the product increase about 400% and a 4-week design audit can detect is 80% of the existing problems.

Why should you get a design audit?

Both businesses and digital trends evolve, and sometimes this can result in a product that no longer achieves its business goals as before, even if it worked when it was first launched.

This situation eventually may lead to many problems, including lower sales, and users who cannot be converted or missing important information. It is often difficult to know the root cause of these problems, and a design audit may be the perfect solution.

Through these audits, you can draw a perfect roadmap for your product. In this way, you increase user interaction and conversion rate. You can also identify the strengths and weaknesses of your product.

Who can benefit from this service?

Product owners who want to find and fix essential gaps in conversion funnels.

Entrepreneurs that have a prototype but wish to make specific changes before proceeding with development (controlling a prototype costs less than re-encoding a published feature).

Product managers who need different perception to identify gaps while eliminating the challenge of being too close to the product for a long time.

Investors who are about to expand their portfolio with a new digital product. Through a design audit, they can lead their teams’ focus on to improving design solutions while ensuring the quality of product in terms of usability.

When should we do the design audit?

Depending on where you are in your project, you may choose to work with a partner on design audit at any time.

  • Before you start developing your product design or prototype.
  • Before you share your product with your potential customers.
  • Every 1 to 2 years depending on the life cycle of your product so that the product can continue to respond to user needs.

Phases of the Design Audit

  1. Defining: The first step is the Stakeholder Session. This will be a 2-hour online session with project owner where we will talk about business strategy, requirements, capabilities, key performance indicators, and winning aspiration.
  2. Analysis: We will dig a little deeper into your data regarding your digital product. After receiving access to your Google Analytics, HotJar, or any other platform where we can find hidden insights, we will perform a deeper analysis to find out pain-points as well as keys for potential success. (Please note that we respect yours and your users’ privacy and make sure everything is protected under an NDA before entering this step!)
  3. Reporting: We will prepare a detailed report including both quantitative and heuristic finds of our audit. We will share potential roadmaps for improving your digital product, in terms of user experience, user interface as well as performance. Report will include roadmap alternatives, further research suggestions, prototype personas, user journey maps, and action list for improvement.

How long does an audit service take?

Depending on the digital product itself, design audit may take up to 1 – 3 weeks maximum.

What are the final outputs?

You will receive a thorough written report describing the audit results performed by our experts, categorized under critical topics and themes, suggestions on what / how to develop, a comprehensive roadmap, and practical advice to tackle these challenges. We will also make a final presentation that will summarize all inputs and outputs in the process.
