Boston, Be Ashamed of Yourselves.

*Disclaimer: I am not making gross generalizations about a group of people (Boston Celtics fans) based off the actions of a few radical members of said group.

Seriously? WTF?

I’ll admit, I am not the biggest fan of the Boston Celtics’ recent acquisition of Kyrie Irving by way of Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Nets’ 2018 1st round pick. However, the aftermath of the trade in Boston by a few select fans is atrocious. Several like the video above have resorted to burning Thomas jerseys in the streets and denouncing the formerly beloved guard. It makes ZERO sense to me! The dude played in a playoff game the day after his sister tragically passed away. He proceeded to score 53 points against the Wizards in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals and helped shoulder a big chunk of Boston’s offense to a matchup against reigning champions, Cleveland Cavaliers.

Not to mention, Thomas was a great recruiter of free agents, most notably Gordon Hayward, for the Celtics and never requested a trade from his club. The same cannot be said for his counterpart, Kyrie Irving, who openly demanded trade from the Cavs and LeBron James. Again, I had to lay blame on all of Boston, because I know the vast majority of fans do appreciate the efforts and heart Isaiah Thomas gave for his former team. But for those that are criticizing and denouncing Isaiah, be ashamed of yourselves. Stay tuned on October 17th as the C’s travel to Cleveland to face Isaiah Thomas and the new-look Cavaliers on Opening Night.
