Feeric Fashion Week Day 3: Marios Karavasilis
Written by Oana Neagoe
The designer Marios Karavasilis, who presented his collections also last year at Feeric Fashion Week, has delighted the audience on the third day of the Fashion Festival with his distinctive and original creations.
Marios Karavasilis has chosen the perfect location to present his latest creations. The Small Square and the Liars’ Bridge had become the set of a fairytale collection.
The Greek designer has combined minimal and complicated stylings with bold colors — predominantly black, dark red, brown and metallic gray. However, the key elements of every single creation were the bejewel and feathered headpieces, which have transposed the audience into the mystical world of the Carnival of Venice. The unique head accessories, the different textures, such as lace, satin, ecological fur and sequins and the makeup of the models gave an extravagant touch to Marios’ creations.
At the end of the fashion show the designer presented also his “bridal” concept. The model wore a white-cream puff sleeve dress, accessorized with a white feathered headpiece. Of course, the groom couldn’t be missing. The male model wore a black trench coat with a metallic print and matching trousers.
Marios Karavasilis’ collection, named Avaton could be described as the perfect mixture of elegance, originality, sophistication and avand-garde style. The fashion show overwhelmed the spectators with a strong emotion and displaced them in a mystical world inhabited by heroes and characters immersed by their own mythology. Avaton — a collection that goes beyond the limits.
