Written by Oana Neagoe

The fashion world has moved to Sibiu on Tuesday, July 18, for Feeric Fashion Week. Feeric Fashion Week, which is on its 10th edition, is one of the most important fashion events from Eastern Europe. This year Feeric reunites more than 30 designers, but also guests, coming from more than 24 countries worldwide.

The first fashion show of the day brought together the collections of five talented and young students of the “University of Arts and Design” from Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The show started with the collection of Evelyn Lorincz. Her collection, “Notorious” was an unexpected combination of glamour, elegance, volume, digital print and glitter. The neon tones have dominated throughout the entire collection. However, what made Evelyn’s creations so special was the perfect mixture between neon tones and “oversized” prints.

The second collection, “The psychology of rebellion”, was signed by Ana Barbosu. The concept was based on the spiritual disintegration of young generations and the phychology of rebellion itself, act which was not created but adopted as a reaction to the socio-cultural issues in our society. Dresses in khaki, neon green and light pink. It might sound not that spectacular, so far. Yet, Ana Barbosu has managed to create an unique ensemble, adding to each dress the secret “element”: the army print.

The next collection named “Perception of infinity”, by Maria Cătălina Culda was a mixture of assymetrical dresses and unconventional details such as metallic applications or vinyl elements, which gave a very futuristic touch. The white-blue stripes dominated the catwalk throughout the collection.

Sorana Oltean, who was inspired by Hip Hop culture, succeded in creating a collection full of attitude, which was aimed to transmit the freedom of expression in clothing. The Hip Hop influences were easily noticed thanks to the accessories. However, the eccentric side of Sorana’s creations has been emphasized by the oversized and coloreful fur jackets.

“The moon in the last square meter” was the last collection presented during this fashion show. The young designer Dobrescu Diana Maria transposed the guests into a midnight landscape, thanks to her unique creations. The “moonlight” effect was intensified by the metallic shades of brown, cooper, dark gold, navy and turqoise.

The five students of “University of Arts and Design” have impressed the guests with their unique pieces. By combining different textures, colors and accessories they created avand-garde creations.
