Product Decoded: Interview with Deb Liu, VP Product, Facebook

Deb Liu, VP Product at Facebook & Ha Nguyen, Product Partner at Spero Ventures

Spero Ventures and Product Leader Summit launch the first season of Product Decoded. The podcast shares advice and best practices on how to build and scale great products from the world’s top product experts. This season, my Product Leader Summit co-organizers, Dan Olsen and Gib Biddle, and I speak with seasoned product leaders from Facebook, Medium, Netflix, UserTesting, Jet.com, Box and more.

In the first episode of our Product Decoded podcast, I sit down with my long-time friend and former colleague, Deb Liu, Vice President of Marketplace at Facebook. In our wide-ranging conversation, Deb shares:

  • Her journey into product leadership
  • What it takes to become a successful product leader
  • What to do when you’re the product leader (and what not to do)
  • How to make the product management field more diverse and inclusive

Deb has over 15 years of experience leading teams of product managers and engineers at successful companies such as Facebook, PayPal and eBay. Deb co-founded Women in Product, a non-profit focused on helping more women enter and succeed in Product Management in the technology sector. She is also on the Board of Directors at Intuit.
