The SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet projects are all closely related as they form integral parts of the SORA and DOTSAMA ecosystems (of which SORA is a part). That is why development status updates are released every two weeks for these three projects, in one convenient place, with development updates from across the community. We are halfway through the last month of 2022, but barely scratching the surface of the great things being worked on as part of the SORA Integrated Plan. This is as good a time as any to remember that the ultimate goal of SORA is to be a New Economic World Order, as the existing one is corrupt and broken. Indeed, this may sound utopic or even naïve, but all it takes is individual acceptance, one user at a time. This is easier said than done, of course, as we are all traumatised by the current system and therefore seek individual security before considering a system that is beneficial to the majority.
However, it takes only a few people to adopt SORA as the new system and gradually we can all work our way up to becoming the new status quo… SORA is built to deliver financial inclusion for all, without discrimination, we have this mantra on the very first page of the SORA Wiki, and it is the goal and motivation that keeps the entire community working hard to provide the tools and infrastructure that will make this vision a reality. Now that we are on the same page, here’s what’s been going on for the past two weeks:
The transport layer for the SORA Kusama parachain bridge is almost complete. There is business logic being planned that will make SORA the obvious decentralized finance hub of the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Hard work is being done to reiterate the “Polka” in Polkaswap.io as we set up the parachain campaign for a Polkadot parachain crowdloan. If Polkadot and its DOT token are the “software” behind the network, Polkaswap aims to be the go-to liquidity hub for the ecosystem, where users can find all parachain, common good, and solo chain tokens available from across DOTSAMA.
Polkaswap will be the place where tokens are valued and traded with style and freedom. You won’t need a centralized exchange, as you will have the power to provide liquidity, stake, market make, and even mint your own tokens and NFTs! This way, the DOTSAMA ecosystem will stand out from other blockchain networks as a pioneer in DeFi that does not end in exit collateral, and with the imminent launch of the SORA card, you will be able to bridge the gap between crypto and fiat, through a decentralized and self-custodial platform to manage your assets — no Sam or CZ to play with your funds!
Order book functionality is also under development, so advanced functions will be available soon for those market makers who have been waiting for better and more efficient platforms, while work on the XST platform is steadily progressing. XST is very exciting, as it will be possible to implement algorithmic assets pegged to real-world currencies and commodities while being backed by the XST token. Through governance, users will be able to propose new assets to be added within Polkaswap.io; think of XSTRUB, XSTEUR, or even XSTAU!
More information on the XST platform will be released soon in the form of an article, but in the meantime, the XSTUSD-USDT, XSTUSD-DAI, XSTUSD-BUSD, and XSTUSD-USDC pools, with more XSTUSD-backed pools to come, have just been made available on Polkaswap.io and Ceres Liquidity locker, and can be monitored through Ceres Tools. There is also a change underway for XSTUSD backing from XOR to XST, which is coming soon. It’s worth remembering that XST liquidity providers receive seigniorage from every XST mint done, that even Lord Rothschild or John Rockefeller would be jealous of.*
On the Fearless Wallet front, along with the constant updates provided by the Fearless team, the browser extension development is undergoing final preparations before Beta release. This will be a great addition to DOTSAMA as an easy-to-use, safe and intuitive way to jump into the ecosystem for users who do not understand or like using other wallets. We will keep you up to date with more news as its release draws closer. As if that were not all, the Fearless Wallet team is also working to make the Polkaswap swapping experience fearlessly stylish! We hope you look forward to these great functionalities.
In other news, the SORA Spanish community held an AMA with the Kusama Ambassador Yovanni and SORAmbassadors Javito, Bioluminescence, and Will. The topic was SORA Card, along with community Q&As. We look forward to more events like these and extend the invitation to other ecosystems and communities who would like to talk about SORA, SORA Card, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet.
In more international news, the SORA team was also represented at the most recent Polkadot Unbounded Ecosystem Event in Bangkok. SORA Card Update on Pre-Registrations
Dear Community,
More than anyone, the SORA Card team is excited to release Phase 1: Pre-Registrations. We are moving it slightly up the calendar to either by the end of this year or very early in January. The main reason for this is something we care about highly: the security of your finances and data.
Before releasing the new application publicly we want to finalize a complete security audit of the whole newly built solution. We work with multiple 3rd parties, and although everything is looking very promising, our unique product requires quite some customized solutions.
As an example, it was the first time our partners worked on a solution where the client (SORA dApp) did not want to have any data of the users. This feature differentiates us from other crypto card solutions and we overcame a couple of challenges to safeguard your privacy.
Next to this, SORA wallet has undergone an entirely new design that prepares it for all planned future features to be added in style and with great user experience above all. It made sense to us to release the new wallet design together with SORA Card integration.
Furthermore, and this is a recurring theme: Substrate networks take some extra research and work since most developers outside of the Polkadot ecosystem have little to no experience with the technology. We are grateful to see an uptrend curve when it comes to the number of developers in the ecosystem, over time Substrate will hopefully become more the standard.
We are excited to share the release of Phase 1 with you very soon at SORA quality standards. Nothing less.
⚙️ SORA Blockchain Update
Substrate Trustless Bridge: SORA Parachain
- The trustless bridge is undergoing internal testing
- The transport layer is mostly finished and is being fine-tuned to enable messages between the SORA mainnet and the SORA Kusama parachain
- The business logic is being worked on to ensure the best user experience when transferring assets to/from the SORA mainnet
- Work with the security team is underway to conduct an internal audit before releasing the bridge to the public for testing
- Soon we will release a testnet for you to help us find any issues, please look forward to it
EVM Trustless Bridge: Ethereum
- Most of the recommendations from the security audit have been addressed
- The main development focus currently is the Substrate bridge and SORA Card
- More progress on the EVM trustless bridge will be available soon
XST: A Platform for Synthetic Assets
- The 2nd and last batch of XST tokenomics logic is under review
- Connection to the Oracles (from a decentralized data feed provider) is under review by the Oracles team
- Work is ongoing on the business logic to enable the XST Platform features
📱 SORA Mobile Update
🚀 Android
- The SORAlution app is updated regularly to provide the latest fixes and additions to the new design! You can test it and help us improve the product by sharing your feedback with us
- Hard work is ongoing to fine-tune the wallet redesign, as well as SORA Card integration before the public release
🍏 iOS
- 2.5.0 — Polkaswap Pools and Node Selection have been released and you can already enjoy them while waiting for the new design!
- An upcoming SORAlution Testflight will include the new design and SORA Card integration
- The team is still working hard on the wallet redesign and SORA Card integration

ADAR Updates
Ongoing:
- Swap and transfer batch feature — 20%
- Implementation of a new “wizard” design — 60%
Finished:
- Design updated, rerun of transactions added
- Test cases are updated due to design changes

XSTUSD base pairs on Demeter Farming have been released, including stable pair farms! 🧘🏻♂️-🧘🏻♂
The Demeter Farming platform is available on the SORA network for users to farm with liquidity pool LP or single-sided staking, with interesting APR*. New pools are constantly added, too.
