The digital product passport (DPP) is regulated for the first time in the ‘new EU Battery regulation’ and proposed in the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation of the European Commission published on March 30, 2022. On this occasion, we are keen to interview the makers of the DPP, who have worked behind the scenes to create the DPP concept and influenced the regulation for reaching the Goals of the European Green Deal. We discuss technical implementations and hurdles, and where it adds business values aside from regulatory compliance.
