Social Trading
When I started trading, I scourged the news 24/7 — CNA, BBC, Bloomberg. All of it. I dedicated time and effort to reading news and researching market information to make myself familiar with all the basics such as Ticker Symbols and Stock Indices such as S&P 500 or Straits Times Index (STI). If only I knew of other ways in which I could learn and obtain information on successful trading.
Recently, I happened to stumble upon the term “Social Trading”. What is it?
Social trading allows anybody to learn from and mirror the trades of successful traders.
This means that you can be a beginner that has no knowledge about the financial market but still learn and earn by mirroring professionals.
One way to do this is through Spiking, a stock market app that gives you information on traders and companies. You can filter between companies or individuals and filter amongst Blue Whales, Millionaires or even Billionaires. For instance, you can find United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) as a Billionaire company or Mr Wee Ee Chao as a Billionaire individual.
