3 Tips to Communicate Successfully
I was asked by the Romanian Business Community in Amsterdam to share my three tips for successful communication.
I opened a new Word document and started writing them. It took me less than five minutes. Once I finished, I read them and realized why it was so easy for me to write the tips in such a short amount of time and without thinking too long or too hard: these are the same strategies I apply in my marketing strategy and with my clients.
So, here they are:
- Listen. By definition, communication implies interaction between multiple people. In order to be able to communicate effectively, you need to listen to the other party.
- Be yourself. Don’t pretend you are someone else. Authenticity and honesty are the best policies. People will “feel” when you are trying to be someone else or you are lying. Let’s be honest, it is exhausting to try and be someone you are not.
- Be curious. Asking the other person questions and being genuinely interested in the answers is the best way to get information, learn, communicate, and create relationships.
These are my three tips. Which one are yours?
