Log Bomb
Bob Log III
It’s refreshing to hear a slide-guitar blues rocker band who’s self-aware enough to avoid trying to be “authentic.” Bob Log III sounds like they love blues rock, but not as if they want to perfectly capture and emulate the original blues rock of the 1950s. Rather, Bob Log III does what it does: plays the blues rock they know how to play, without forcing themselves to be something they ain’t. And they do that well. It’s like when Green Day covers The Ramones. In spite of anything else you might say about them, if Green Day plays a proper punk song, they play it properly. They don’t play The Ramones’ punk, they play Green Day’s punk, and it’s still punk.
Bob Log III is like that. They don’t play the blues rock of their forebears, but they do play good blues rock.
I say they. I mean he. Bob Log III is a one man band.
Which, considering these songs, is hella cool.
