Today, we’re launching a new product that solves a problem that has frustrated us for a while: How do you do a step competition with your favorite people?
Obviously there are some great workplace wellness options (cough, cough), but maybe your employer isn’t on board, or you have a group of people that you’d like to include, but that you don’t work with. So, what other options do you have?
Sure, if everyone buys a Jawbone UP or Fitbit or Withings, you can see each other’s stats. But what if not everyone can afford an expensive wearable? Or if people just happen not to like the same one?
And, even then, some apps will let you do a 1-on-1 duel… But what about group competition?
A lot of us grew up playing team sports, and that sense of camaraderie and loyalty, driving you to do more than you otherwise would have committed… Where can we get that, today?
It’s something we really wanted, something we needed, so we built it ourselves.
We’ve spent the last 5 years building digital products that help people to be happier and healthier, and we’ve learned a lot. Our expertise is in building apps and platforms that are easy and enjoyable to use, in taking things that feel complicated and difficult, and making them intuitive and simple.
We’ve taken that expertise to build something new, which we’re proud to introduce: Spire FIT!
Spire FIT allows you to do simple step tracking with your crew. That’s a broad term, and intentionally so: You know who you want to track your steps with, and Spire FIT gives you the opportunity to do that.
Whether you and your peeps are #TeamApple or #TeamAndroid, no one has to be left out: As of today, we have apps available for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Android Wear. Our apps integrate with both Apple Health and GoogleFit, which means that you can use the devices and apps you already love, and still keep up with each other.
