I wish I’d been more thoughtful last night.

It started with me scrolling through Facebook and seeing a few posts from people I’ve known for years, some I didn’t know at all, and some by friends and family, with opposing political views.

I disagreed with what they were saying, and the more I read, the more frustrated I felt. Eventually, I decided to comment, letting my irritation guide my words. Instead of the calm, respectful response I now wish I’d left, I responded with negativity and hostility.

The result? I spent the rest of the night feeling angry and unsettled. Worse yet, I barely slept.

As I lay there tossing and turning, I kept replaying the comments, thinking of what I could have said differently and wondering what others thought about my reaction.

In the end, my peace of mind was gone, and nothing had changed for the better. Today, looking back, I see I should have made a different choice.
