The Spiritual Journey Has Nothing to do With Being ‘Nice’

The spiritual path is not all sunshine and roses.

There are plenty of weeds and thorns you will need to sort through along the way. Some of these weeds and thorns are false beliefs that will cause you to stumble along your path.

One false belief about the spiritual journey is that you always have to be nice.

But the spiritual journey is not about being ‘nice’.

The spiritual journey is about finding your own truth and following your own path.

There’s nothing wrong with being nice.

But if you’re being nice just to gain the approval of others, or you think being nice is the spiritual thing to do; then your ‘niceness’ stems from fear.

‘Niceness” that stems from fear is not really niceness. Because it stems from feelings of worthlessness and low self-esteem.

You want everybody to like you. So, you are nice to a fault. Even if it’s to the detriment of your own well-being.

If you are nice to gain the approval of others, you will secretly teem with anger and resentment. Because your ‘niceness’ does not…
