“Hope is the thing with feathers — That perches in the soul –And sings the tune without the words — And never stops at all …” Emily Dickinson

Drawing and poem by Shirley Willett

My deepest hope is for each of us, and the Whole of Humanity to continually evolve toward Divinity. My hope is for each to become aware of that purpose of life, and that each is a part of the Whole. We grow and evolve, not through competition, but cooperation, love and lending a helping hand for others to evolve. Interestingly, I have been reading some articles about nature’s cooperation. And how some parts of nature help other parts. Nature can be a guide for our hopes.

Pain and suffering is a part of life as the Dalai Lama has often said. I believe they are a kind of challenge to test and learn many things about evolution. Each one’s path can be very different — there is no one right way. It is imperative to learn, understand, and to love those differences.

Steven Gambardella is a philosopher I love, and philosophy and divinity have many connections to me. He asks and answers: “What’s the best philosophy for life? The best philosophy for life is your own philosophy for life. Take inspiration from others, but make your own way for yourself, don’t mindlessly follow a pack. … Is there a perfect way to approach life? No. People are not machines. Life is an art, not a science.”

Even Divinity may mean something different to each of us, and we must move upward at our own pace. Let’s keep moving and dreaming and hoping for the greater good of the Whole.

Thank you Darshak Rana for your prompt of “hope”, and Spiritual Saturday.
