Sitting without distraction,
Meditating without thought,
How do you really know if
You’re doing it right or not?

If you’re really not engaging
With that endless thought-stream
You might just be asleep,
And meditation’s just a dream.

And if you say you know it,
How do you know you know,
Unless by paying attention to
At least one thought in the flow?

Meditation’s harder than you think
So why not give it another go?
And maybe one day you’ll get it,
Before you know it, you’ll know.
