Redemption
A Haibun
Your words strike me cold, bitterly to the bone. Echoes trail behind me as I walk away. I only seek the end of your din. Sweet silence surrounds me. The day that began in sunshine play, now only shadows glide by. I know there is no redemption with you. I tried. I tried. Give me strength through this storm, O Lord. Cleanse my wretched soul.
whispers fade — gone now
under blessed skies shredded grey
rain will wash me clean
