The Mistake Of Holding On When It Is Time To Let Go
At some point in oneās life, one has to let go of the past
It is natural to want to hold on to things. Women are particularly prone to this, whether it is a piece of jewellery that was given to us by an ex-lover, that we have an emotional attachment to, or a piece of dress that we believe is special to us. We want to hold on to it.
I read that when Rory Mcllroy broke his engagement to Caroline Wozniacki after wedding invitations have been sent out, he wanted her to keep his engagement ring. I wondered what for? This is a man who wanted to eat his cake and have it. I am not sure whether Caroline held on to it or flung it off.
For all others, we can look into other issues of life that no longer serve us, but we want to hold on to. What about that job? We want to hold on because it is paying our bills, not considering the stress it is giving us, making us die a slow death. A relationship that has gone past its sparkle, or a side hustle or business that is just draining us.
Fear Is The Reason We Are Holding On
When we look critically into our lives, there are things to give up. The mistake of not giving up is due to fear, mostly fear of the unknown. When we give in to fear, there are many series of āWHAT IFsā that will plague our minds.
āNature doesnāt hesitate to let go of what she doesnāt needā Julia Roberts
The sad thing about fear is that most of the things we fear never manifest, but it continue to hold us in bondage. They hold us in the bondage of future expectations and hope that what we want will never surface.
So spiritually, we need to release the energy of fear.
We do this by starting to clear the physical clutter. Look into your closet, and get rid of what no longer serves you, whatever that is, give it away. There must be someone who will value it, and be thankful. Even if we give to Charity, it still helps.
