Aren’t we all hedonists in disguise?

The hedonist does what makes him feel good.
The masochist seeks pain because pain makes him feel good.
The sadist inflicts pain because inflicting pain makes him feel good.
The ascetic denies himself because self-denial makes him feel good.
The businessman makes money because making money makes him feel good.
The philanthropist serves others because serving others makes him feel good.
At the end of the day, aren’t we all hedonists wearing various costumes?
