She had faced domestic violence before, but something had changed that morning. She had changed. Mimi grabbed her embroidery frame, snuggled into a chair on the front porch, and began to work.
The orange thread, needle, and frame appeared to be in perfect harmony as if they had seen the morning light for the first time.
“That’s it. This is exactly what you need and are looking for,” a hushed whisper came from within her.
As Mimi looked at her embroidery frame, she saw her needlework in progress.
It read, “A new life.”
