Follow the Light

The moon may cover
the entire sun
but there is nothing on earth
we can’t get done

when we choose to raise
our hearts above
and always follow the light.

When the eclipse
lasts all night
and everything beautiful
and bright
becomes a heavy hole

and you feel
a growing weight
as the stars unfold
their twinkling breath
in shadows,

remember
there is always
a higher power
for those who know
how to keep the truth
in sight:

There is nothing
that fear
can truly swallow
if you choose
to always follow
the light.
