Restoration
A Poem
God stopped by
for a drink
last night and
left this morning
with my soul
in His pocket.
We toasted the scars
left by memory
and reminisced about
the battles we had fought
and the women we loved.
I begged His forgiveness
and knelt in prayer,
asking that He heal
my spirit and restore
my innocence. I looked
into His heart and
felt the power of
His love flowing
through my veins.
