Up in the NT, on Larrakia Land, Darwin street art treasures have been multiplying. Since the introduction of the Darwin Street Art Festival in 2017, the city has begun building itself as a street art destination, attracting artists and tourists eager to check out and contribute to the scene.

What started as eight murals in 2017, has expanded to more than 50, with big-name national and international artists gracing the guestlists of the festival, which is an initiative by the NT Major Events Company, supported by the Northern Territory Government. Go NT!

With the bulk of the artworks in the CBD, the Darwin street art hunt is easy to execute on foot.

* Larrakia Land = Darwin. The Larrakia people are the traditional owners of the Darwin region.

Darwin Street Art Map

Full disclosure: we have not been to Darwin to make this map, so we’re going off of the Darwin Street Art Festival maps, taking the PDF and turning it into a Google map version so that you can follow along on your phone. As such, keep your eyes peeled for unofficial pieces that are sure to be hiding around the place.

If you’re one that likes to hunt all artforms, beyond street art, be sure to check out this Public Art map from the City of Darwin. This doesn’t include street art, as it’s a temporary art form, so this map is mostly dedicated to sculptures, tile works and other murals that are more permanent fixtures.
