Plovdiv is one place where even if you didn’t intend to go hunting for street art, you will inevitably stumble upon an awful lot of it. What a dream!

Unlike Sofia, Plovdiv’s street art is dense in the centre of town, colouring the walls unashamedly with the unique characters by incredibly talented local artists including Aleksi Ivanov, Stern, and Dimitar Mekhandziiski.

If you’re not already following them, I suggest you do that right now.

While, unfortunately, I don’t have a map for you on this occasion, it is not really required to find all of the street art in Plovdiv’s central area. There are two main spots with tones of art; the whole Kapana area and the street (ul.) of Nayden Gerov.

Plovdiv Street Art

Kapana (The Trap) — Old Town

Here there are many many golden pieces to find in this area. Loads of really sweet small pieces, and an impressive number of great big murals on every other street.

Featured artists: Stern, and Aleksi Ivanov.

ul. Nayden Gerov

This one stretch of road has a high density of murals. Try to follow it from end to end to make sure you miss nothing.

Featured artists: Bozko, Stern and Nasmo Esteo.

If you know the others please do let me know!

Bar Fabric

If you like craft beer and street art, chances are you’re going to love Bar Fabric. This is not a sponsored article, just a public service announcement that this venue is awesome and you should check it out.
