The competitive Splatoon 2 scene is nearing its one year anniversary. The first ten months of competition have seen many highs and lows. But Season 3 may have been the most tumultuous, with teams disbanding and teams forming (or re-forming in some cases). For many players, Season 3 was their chance to shine in the limelight as months of practice have finally bore fruit.

It is my honor to present the Season 3 Final Report for competitive Splatoon 2.

Guidelines

Rankings Qualification

  • INT Region — played 40 games minimum
  • FR Region — played 40 games minimum
  • AUNZ Region — played 20 games minimum
  • JP Region — played 35 games minimum, participated in 2 events minimum

Rankings Guide

Glicko-2 is a ratings system that summarizes a team’s strength based on an interval (+/- 2RD) that represents 95% confidence in the accuracy of a team’s rating.

  • Glicko-2 Rating (LOW) — your rating adjusted with -RD (Ratings Deviation), used to rank teams (Note that this does NOT represent the lowest possible score, just the first score adjusted with RD).
  • Glicko-2 Rating (MIDDLE) — your rating with no adjustments
  • Ratings Deviation (RD) — number used to determine how large your ratings interval is, representation of the accuracy of a team’s rating.

SplatStats.com?

One of the goals that I wish to accomplish in the next few months is to create a landing website for SplatStats to allow rankings and stats to be much more easily found. A secondary goal is to use it as a hub for all information about competitive Splatoon. This will take a while, so don’t expect it to happen in the near future, but it will be the core of my work for the following months to come.

Patreon

We will be continuing our Patreon to help fund our efforts to cover the competitive scene. Currently we have enough support to use OpenRec.tv as a resource for the Japanese scene, but we are always looking to expand our efforts and our work. We want to take this time to thank all of those who have been supporting our efforts, and those who wish to support us, you can find our page at www.patreon.com/splatstats.
