You Can Never Demand Respect
A true badass does their thing, with or without it.
The faculty laughed at me. I’d just finished my research presentation, the climax of a two-day campus visit. Only a few people understood my project. A few professors told me I was wasting my time.
Someone else asked me, “Are you sure you know what you’re doing? You seem too interdisciplinary.”
