What are you doing this weekend?

Is it just me or do you also count down to spending the weekend doing something in particular?

If you work a full-time job, then you definitely understand how important weekends can be. Not only are they the best time to rest from the week’s work and in preparation for the next week, they are also perfect for catching up on the latest entertainment, hanging out with friends, and doing all the things you simply cannot do during the work week.

If you’re yet to decide on what to do this weekend, I have a few ideas for you.

Bond with friends over virtual games

This weekend, you can bond with your friends over virtual games or set up a games night and invite your friends over. A few snacks and drinks, some of the best and latest action and sports games, and take your mind off work for a moment.

Many studies have shown that playing video games are great for building and bolstering friendships. According to this publication, video games were a popular medium for building friendships and battling isolation and loneliness during the pandemic.

I know the worst days of the pandemic are behind us, still, bond over some games with your friends.

Unwind at the beach

If you’ve ever been to the beach, you’ll definitely understand when I say that watching the waves crash against rocks and the shore, feeling the wind in your face, and watching people laugh as they run into the water has a calming effect on the mind.

If you’ve not been to the beach in a while, seize the opportunity this weekend to go and enjoy the view and the soothing effect of nature. Put your feet in the water and savour the gentle coolness of the ocean, or grab a drink and watch the happy people at the beach from a shade, or sit on the banks and stare into the horizon. Whatever you do, allow the calmness of the beach to wash away your stress.

Organize a house party

Send a message to your friends, pick a nice space, and have a friends-only party this weekend. Play games, trade stories, share jokes, and catch up on events that have happened in all the time you haven’t seen each other.

House parties with close friends are a great way to rejuvenate friendships, build lasting relationships, and have fun generally. If you’re looking to have the best time of your life this weekend, invite your favourite people to a house party and indulge in games, food, wine, and good old conversations.

Go on a trip

This weekend, you can go on a short trip to a nearby city and spend a night or two exploring a different environment.

Go on a road trip, or catch a train ride or book a flight out of the country for a weekend getaway to refresh and return. Allow yourself to wander in a strange city as you walk through unfamiliar streets and struggle to speak unfamiliar languages. Allow yourself to feel the thrill of belonging elsewhere.

Get married 😉

Yes! Everyone knows the weekend is a great time to get hitched and settle into a life of excitement with the love of your life. It is perfect because you can have all your friends there, cheering you as you say your vows and commit to your better half.

If you are ready to say goodbye to the single life, this weekend is perfect to get married.
